Instructions for easy French manicure at home
Start by trimming your nails to the desired length. Make sure all of them are even. And remember: When it comes to the French manicure, the longer they are, the better.
Now dip your hands in lukewarm water. Before dipping your hands, add one tsp of hydrogen peroxide and shampoo to the water. Dip your hands for 15 minutes.
Take your hands out after 15 minutes and apply cuticle oil and massage your nails for 10 minutes. Now push back your cuticles and snip off any dry ones.
After your basecoat dries, apply your base color – light pink or light nude beige/ brown shade as per your choice and let it dry completely. It should be completely dry before proceeding to the next step.
When the base color dries completely, put the French manicure tip guides just under your nail smile line. Paint your tips with white nailpaint as shown in the picture below:
Remove french tips when your nailpaint is still wet. After removing French tips, clean any nail polish on your cuticles using the nail polish remover and q-tips for getting a neat look.
Now apply the topcoat and let it dry. Now apply cuticle oil to give extra nourishment to your nails.
Tips For Making Your Homemade french Manicure Last
- Make sure you paint on a transparent thin coat on your manicured nails every day. This holds the coat firmly in place.
- Always make sure you thoroughly moisturize the skin around your nails and not the nails themselves. An organic moisturiser is a good bet, as it will moisturize your hands and also prevent fine lines and wrinkles.
- To ensure your French manicure lasts always wear gloves when you’re doing the dishes or washing clothes.
